  • Cohort 10b – All patients aged 40 – 44 yrs.

If you are not in the above category, please do not contact the practice. You will be notified when you are in an eligible cohort.

Due to the nature of the vaccines, we are unable to administer the COVID-19 vaccines at our individual practices, which means we will be running the clinics a little differently.

The clinics will be held on the ground floor of Breightmet Health Centre. To keep our patients and staff safe, social distancing will be in operation and we ask that you wear a face mask or face covering when you attend and use the hand sanitiser at the entrance. All our clinicians and staff will be wearing full personal protective equipment.

Please arrive on time. If you arrive early, we ask that you remain in your car or wait outside the building until your appointment time. There will be reserved parking in the Breightmet Health Centre car park for patients attending the clinics. There is also reserved parking for patients attended for COVID-19 vaccination, which has been kindly offered by The Withins, next door to the Health Centre. Car Park marshalls will be in attendance.

Please wear suitable clothing to make it easy for you to quickly present your arm for injection. We will ask you to remove your coat or jacket before you are directed to a COVID-19 vaccination station.

We respectfully ask that only patients who are being vaccinated attend the appointment. Please do not bring other members of your household with you, unless you need assistance, in which case, this should be limited to one person only.

A one way system will be in operation and you will be leaving the building by a separate exit. There will be plenty of signs and marshalls to guide you through the one way system.

After you have been vaccinated, you will be required to wait for 15 minutes in our post vaccination observation room if you have the Pfizer vaccine. The post vaccination advice for the AstraZeneca vaccine is that you don’t drive for 15 mins after your vaccination, there is no need for you to be observed following vaccination.

We will be vaccinating a large amount of patients in this clinic and the clinicians will be unable to discuss any other medical matters at this appointment.

IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT, EG A NEW PERSISTENT COUGH, A HIGH TEMPERATURE OR LOSS OF TASTE OR SMELL, YOU MUST NOT ATTEND THIS APPOINTMENT.

IF YOU HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19 IN THE PAST 4 WEEKS OR TAKEN A COVID-19 TEST FOLLOWING THIS PHONECALL AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE RESULT OR A NEGATIVE RESULT, YOU MUST NOT ATTEND THIS APPOINTMENT.
